BrisSciFilm 2022 – Jean Golding Institute data science and AI film prize

There will be an additional prize awarded this year for a short film submitted to our competition with a data science or artificial intelligence theme. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner up on behalf of the Jean Golding Institute (JGI).

The University of Bristol-based Institute is a multidisciplinary hub, an environment where novel data science and data-intensive research is explored to find data driven solutions to societal challenges. The JGI connects, communicates, and facilitates interdisciplinary exchange, promoting a spirit of collaboration, working with communities to enhance research impact, expand networks and develop partnerships.

JGI wants to see your short science fiction or fact films on a data theme. These could explore data ethics, how the information age has affected the spread of misinformation, or how data science and AI is positively changing our lives now and in the future.

The Jean Golding Institute will award £150 to the winner and £50 to the runner up. To be considered, just submit your film to our Festival via FilmFreeway and you’ll automatically be considered for the Jean Golding Institute film prize.

Already submitted your film? We don’t make final decisions until after the competition closing date of May 1st, 2022. If you have already submitted your film on a data science-related topic, it’ll automatically be eligible for the Jean Golding Institute prize.

Any questions, please get in touch. Good luck!
